Bavas Music City, NSW, Australia today delivered my Yamaha P155 P-155 digtal piano. These are some Unbox photos.

Aus$1799 for the piano; $85 for the USB Midi interface; $50 for the delivery.

The piano stand for P155 is not in stock (funny, when the stand was in stock, the piano was not). But they said they will deliver that with no extra delivery charge separately later.

(Update: The L-140 stand for P-155 is now delivered.)

So I put the piano on top of the iron board as you can see from the photo. I guess I will set the piano "Post Modern" style in my room for a while.

I have now been able to connect the P155 trough Midi to my Mac where the new Pianoteq 3 is located. I am happy to realize that both the P155 and Pianoteq 3 can make sound at the same time, having the volume properly set on both P155 and my Mac (using a Yamaha TSS-15 as its amp and speakers), it really now seems possible to get the most out of both: the P155's fantastic "Grand Piano 1" and Pianoteq 3's "C3 Close Mic" and now "C3ls Close Mic" for its Sympathetic String Resonance and nuances of a real piano ... Many people who dislike modeled VST are quite humorous saying Pianoteq like "a robot vomiting..." or "sound more like Caribbean Steel Drum". To a tiny extend, I concur, especially with the Pianoteq demo number - Chopin Waltz Op 70 No 1, that comes with the software.

Well, was trying to get an Ivory, but now maybe this set up is good enough for now or for me. :(

  5. Hi there, I am thinking to buy the Yamaha P155 too. Can I ask you some questions? How long does it take for the piano to arrive to you and is Bavas Music City reliable? Did you call them or just order online? Will the piano be damaged during delivery? Thank you~~ I know this is kinda old post and hope you will see my comment!

  6. I cannot remember how long it took. But didn't feel it was long. My experience with Bavas Music City was joyful, nothing to complain on. I think I both order online as well as called them, because I remember that was because I add something into my order. Still I think it is a good idea to call them after the online order. No damage at all, the delivery was very professional.
