Canadian Gold Maple Leaf 9999

Canadian Gold Maple Leaf 9999Standard 1 oz (gold ounce) Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Gold Coin is 9999 purity. It means it is 99.99%.

It is popular and famous in that, it doesn't have base alloy (not like some other gold coin, like another famous one - KRUGERRANDS, which got copper in it). Also because of this, some think it is too soft and the edge is too sharp, very difficult not to leave scratches on them. The Royal Canadian Mint releases these coin only in a tube for ten coins (Like the tube shown in the 3rd image). Therefore, the edges of these are banging each other. The ideal is that you buy them in 10 in the original tube, and never open the tube. But that isn't the likely case for buyers. Some said it's OK, because the bullion coins are different from obsolete gold coins who count on their numismatic value. And they are bought back near melt price. But deformation and scratches do increase reluctance of some bullion dealers, especially smaller ones. Therefore it decreases the liquidity of the coin. I don't have standard Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coin. I have 99999 version ordered through my relative in Canada. Talk more about 99999 version later...
