Yamaha L-140 Digital Piano Stand for P-155

MDR-CD280

Bavas Music Store, Sydney, today delivered the Yamaha Digital Piano Stand L-140 L140 without extra delivery charge as they promised.

The stand itself is AU$220.

I have set it up in about 30 min for my new Yamaha P155. This stand does what it does pretty well. And the piano now is VERY stable. Much more so than the iron board I have been using before the delivery. I was a bit worried on the fact that the stand is not adjustable in height. But after it is installed. The height is perfect. However, material wise, I believe it is overly priced. The long horizontal bar between the two legs, especially, is made of very cheap material.

I still hightly recommend it to P-155 P155 owners. I read somewhere that you don't have to bolt the piano onto the stand if you need flexibility of being portable or gigging. Just rest the piano on top of the stand will be fine. As for me, I did. Because I don't have any plan to move it for a while.

The last image is the headphone I have been using with my P-155. A SONY MDR-CD280.

I might use a "1/4 inch jack (male) to RCA (female) adapter" to connect my P-155 to my JVC mini Hi-Fi for extra bass. I have a "Panasonic Noise Canceling Headphones RP-HC500". But it is only suitable for noise, unfortunately.

So with the stand, my P155 look exactly like this now. (Well, saved me the trouble to take the picture. This one has better lighting...)

  1. Hi HuaTong,

I'm going to order a Yamaha P155 from Japan to China mainland. However, considering the overpriced L-140 stand (including the addtional shipment fee due to its size and weight), I gonna to DIY one by myself. So, would you please kindly help to provide me the accurate size of this L140 stand, including height (length between groud to bottom of the digital piano) and the width between 2 legs? In additional, how is the piano fixed on this stand? It will be really appreciated if you could help on this. Thank you very much!!

  2. Hi, Szeller,

Width 129mm, Height 62mm, Depth (you decide, the depth of the piano is 36mm)

Before I bought this L-140 stand, online they were talking about something in IKEA that can be used as a stand which might be a good idea. Also before the order of my L-140 arrived, I have been putting the piano on top of an iron board, which I thought would be good enough. Better and stabler than a X portable piano stand...

    Hope the info is helpful.

How does the process of buying a P155 from Japan go?
I'm planning to buy one from the US because prices are low, but shipping costs are high. Where did you order yours?
