As the hotel booking doesn't include breakfast. I have no idea where and how I will have my breakfast. So these will do...
After shower and breakfast, going out. Downstairs, took some photos of the lobby.
It is my first time being to Japan. I landed in Haneda (羽田)airport.
I found my way from Haneda International Terminal to Domestic Terminal 1 by free shuttle bus. Then took the bus to Shinjyuku.
All this by saying: Shinjyuku ni yi ki da yi des. (I want to go to Shinjyuku)
and
Shinjyuku bus wa do ku des ka? (Where is Shinjyuku bus?)
Well I was finally taken to the Info desk, where they explained everything to me in English and Chinese.
I can also point something in the book, and say:
Ka re wa do ku des ka? (Where is this?) Late corrected by my friend, into: Ku ku wa do ku des ka? (Where is this one?)
Glorious in daylight...
The government building and my hotel in the same frame. It is actually physically closest building to the government building.
There is a view deck in the government building. It is free! But there is no time and no point to view from there. It is Shinjyuku. I'm going Roppongi Hills and Tokyo Tower for viewing.
Outside the west gate, the twin curl traffic landmark, you see the two important department stores of Shinjyuku - Odakyuh 小田急 and Keio 京王
A woman is waiting the lift to go to Odakyuh department store.

A window inside the same building with a view of the twin curl.
Odakyuh inside.

Top floor(s) of a department stores in Japan are normally restaurants and food count...
This one is Chinese cuisine.
This map / floor plan shows how department store buildings are actually linked together.
Here I am in a smaller scaled store called 'My Lord', looking into an over pass towards 'New South Gate' area.
On the overpass, at one side, you see this Shinjuku south gate. You see Lumine department store building 1 and 2 are on each side of this station.
On the other side you see another big name hotel at the end of the road - Park Hyatt Hotel, a brother hotel of my hotel - Hyatt Regency.
On the other side of the overpass, you see the 'New South Gate', the empire state building of Tokyo - docomo or NTT tower, and Takashimaya in Timesquare (高岛屋), it is a very high profile department store. It is second to none, and the Shinjuku one is the largest in Tokyo. The other two high profile department stores are Mitsukoshi (三越) and Isetan (伊势丹), with Mitsukoshi has a bit even higher profile - meaning most consumer/customer/client are the rich. OK, I begin to sound like a woman. Shopping, shopping, shopping, whatever, why do I care...
Between the Mitsukoshi and the tower is the Kinokuniya (纪伊国屋)a big bookstore, that has a branch in Sydney CBD, that I visit often.
A few different angles from the same spot. From this last frame, I spotted something nice to eat - Lao Bian Chinese dumpling (老边饺子馆). So that will be where I'm heading...
Along the way, I saw these:
Finally seated inside the dumpling store
After many:
Smi ma sai; Go me na sai; and Nihon go, wo ga ra na yi; e go, wa ga da.
I found out they speak Chinese. What was I thinking? It is a Chinese restaurant.

Oui si
Yi da da ki maaaaas...
Save the headache for last.
But, wait, until real crazy things happening inside Takashimaya (高岛屋)...
to be continued in next post...
