Sydney City Library is network. There are many branches all over different districts. Monday 4 Apr 2011, not working, went to the Circular Quay branch. It was inside the old historical customer building.
I borrowed the book -- "the Stone of Heaven".
The ground floor floor is a transparent deck for the miniature model of Sydney inner city.
This is the building from the outside. One of those traditional Sydney sandstone classic building.
I have been to city library in Vancouver and library of NYC. Sydney city library gave you a feeling that you just want to borrow books. I have only got similar feeling when I was in National Library in Beijing.
After I got the book, I took a cozy day-off stroll in the circular quay and nearby area. Sydney harbor is always ever so beautiful. The Australian are wise enough to keep the traditional look of the ferries as how they were to carefully maintaining the tradition and the culture. I'd hope Shanghai and Hong Kong could have kept their old ferry looks. But they didn't. Which is stupid.
Royal Copenhagen. Yummy! The ice cream of New Zealand is equally yummy. Why they don't have some of the kiwi ice cream? Maybe Aussie has a thing with their neighbor's diary industry?
Animated Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Hum, very interesting... And classy.
This is in the exhibition called - MCA COLLECTION: NEW ACQUISITIONS IN CONTEXT 2010
9 December 2010 - 19 June 2011
Going through the royal botanic garden to go for the Art Gallery of NSW.
Caught some "before and after" scenes. This is before 1882
This is after 4 Apr 2011
This is before 1879. Unfortunately this one doesn't have After. This is built for the Sydney World Expo. It was burnt down by a fire accident. Also gone with the fire are many Australian and Aboriginal treasuries. I think they should rebuild this, it's not like it is hard to duplicate this with today's technologies.
